White polo shirts printed with a company logo, ready to be delivered as uniforms

Short answer

At Lemon Creativo in Santo Domingo, the cost of uniforming a team depends on the garment, the logo method and its positions, how many pieces each person gets, replacements, and new hires during the year. Embroidery usually costs more than DTF printing. The price is confirmed in the quote within 24 to 48 hours, itemized: garment, branding, packing, and delivery.

What drives the cost of each uniform piece?

The garment, the fabric, and the logo method. T-shirts and caps are the basic range, polo shirts the mid range, and the hoodie and jacket the top range. On almost every product page, embroidery costs more than DTF printing; on the hoodie and the jacket both methods cost the same.

This table is a starting point, not a budget. Which garment suits each department is covered in our guide to custom corporate uniforms. Here we use it to answer what Purchasing actually asks: what drives the cost of dressing the team for a full year. The price of each garment is confirmed in the quote, within 24 to 48 hours.

How many pieces does each person need?

Enough to always have a clean one. With a single piece, it gets washed every night and wears out much faster; with three, one is being worn, one is in the wash, and one is a spare. This is the rule of thumb we start from:

Days worn per weekPieces per personWhy
1 or 2 (events, a branded Friday)1 or 2There is time to wash between wears
3 or 42 or 3One on, one in the wash
5 (office, Monday to Friday)3One on, one in the wash, one spare
6 or more, field work or in the sun4 or 5Sweat means washing every day

If your team works in the sun or sweats a lot, add one piece and choose technical fabric, which dries between shifts. The fabric differences are explained in birdseye, dry fit, or piqué.

How do you calculate cost per person, per year?

Add three line items and divide by the number of people on the team. Most uniform budgets we receive count only the first one, and halfway through the year an unplanned expense shows up.

  1. Initial issue: people × pieces per person × garment price.
  2. Replacements: pieces that wear out or get damaged during the year. In an office, where the fabric is not worked hard, this can wait until next year; for field crews, plan a partial replacement mid-year.
  3. New hires: how many people you expect to join this year, times the pieces each one gets. Ask HR for that number: it is the item most often forgotten.

Cost per person per year = (initial issue + replacements + new hires) ÷ team size. We give you the garment price for the formula in the quote, itemized.

How does the calculation change by team? Three examples

The three examples show how many pieces are needed and which line item weighs most in each case. The assumptions (pieces, replacements, new hires) are spelled out so you can swap in your own.

ExampleWhat it includesPiecesWhat weighs most in the cost
Office of 10, Monday to Friday3 embroidered piqué polo shirts per person, plus 3 for each of 2 new hires during the year36Garment and method: few pieces, but embroidered and mid range
Operations crew of 25, six days a week4 dry fit T-shirts with DTF and 1 bull denim cap with DTF per person; 2 replacement T-shirts per person mid-year; full issue for 5 new hires200 (170 T-shirts and 30 caps)Quantity: replacements and new hires are 75 of the 200 pieces
One-day event for 100 people1 dry fit T-shirt with DTF and 1 two-tone cap with DTF per person, plus 6 extra T-shirts in the most common sizes206Lead time: more than 100 pieces for a fixed date

The office pays more per piece but needs few: an embroidered piqué polo looks sharp all day. With a DTF logo instead of embroidery, the year costs less without changing the garment.

The operations crew spends more per person even though its garment is basic range, because it uses more pieces and replaces them. Replacements and new hires are more than a third of its pieces: 75 out of 200.

The event has no replacements, but it has a deadline: it is more than 100 pieces, so plan at least 15 business days from artwork approval. How many T-shirts to order and how to split sizes for an event is covered in corporate T-shirts for business events.

The price of each case is confirmed in the quote, within 24 to 48 hours, with a proof of the garment with your logo and an itemized price: garment, branding, packing, and delivery. ITBIS tax (18%) is added to everything.

What changes the final price?

  • Branding method. On our product pages, embroidery usually costs more than DTF on T-shirts, polo shirts, and caps. When each method makes sense is explained in embroidery, DTF, screen printing, or sublimation.
  • Logo positions. The piqué polo is quoted with the logo in one position; a second logo on the sleeve or back is quoted separately.
  • Quantity. The price per piece changes with volume, and we itemize it. Almost every garment shows an estimated minimum of one unit; the Bob Cab cotton T-shirt shows 24. The final minimum is confirmed in the quote based on the method.
  • Each person's name. If you want names or job titles in addition to the logo, every piece gets its own personalization. Put it on the list from the start so it is in the quote.
  • Packing and delivery. Packing per person or delivering to several sites is a separate line from the garment.

If you are also budgeting other branded items, our guide to how much promotional products cost in the DR explains what drives the price of the most requested ones.

Reference price from RD$517 per unit, before ITBIS (as of October 2026); the final price is confirmed in your quote.

Where can you trim the budget without the uniform looking cheap?

In the scope, not in the garment quality. These are the levers that move the number most:

  • DTF instead of embroidery for event or short-term garments: on most product pages, the piece costs less.
  • One logo position instead of two.
  • A different garment per department: a piqué polo for customer-facing staff and a technical T-shirt for the warehouse or field, with the same logo in the same spot.
  • Caps only for people who work in the sun, not the whole payroll.
  • Phase it: the initial issue now and new hires in a second run, with the same reference.

What we do not recommend cutting is pieces per person. A uniform worn dirty or faded costs your brand more than the piece you saved on.

How we build a uniform budget at Lemon

Tell us how many people, what each department does, how many days a week they wear the uniform, and whether you expect new hires. Within 24 to 48 hours we send back a proposal with the recommended garment per department, a proof of the garment with your logo, and an itemized price: garment, branding, packing, and delivery. That lets Purchasing compare suppliers line by line.

You do not need to outfit the whole company at once. Our median order is 15 units, and half of all orders fall between 4 and 50. You can start with one department and add the rest later.

For replacements we start from your previous order: the same garment, the same approved color, and the same logo file, so the second run matches the first. 35% of our customers come back to buy again, and with uniforms that is expected: teams change and garments wear out.

A mistake we see often: quoting the garment and forgetting the second logo position or each person's name, then finding out at artwork approval. If you mention it in your first message, the number you approve already includes it.

Every garment, with its colors and branding methods, is in branded textiles and uniforms.

Request your quote with headcount, days of use, and your date: we reply within 24 to 48 hours with the recommended garment and an itemized price.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to put a team in uniforms?

It depends on the garment, the logo method and how many positions it takes, the pieces per person, and the year's replacements and new hires. Tell us how many people, what each department does, and how many days they wear the uniform, and within 24 to 48 hours we send a quote with a proof of the garment with your logo and an itemized price.

How many uniforms should each employee have?

Enough to always have a clean one. As a starting point: three pieces for Monday-to-Friday wear, and four or five for six-day weeks or work in the sun. One or two are enough for one or two days a week.

Does the quote include ITBIS tax?

The 18% ITBIS tax is added in the quote and on the tax-compliant invoice, separate from the price of each line item.

Does the price per piece drop if I order more?

The final price depends on quantity, branding method, and how many logo positions you need. We confirm it in the quote, itemized so you can see what changes on each line.

Can I outfit part of the team now and the rest later?

Yes. Our median order is 15 units. For the second run we start from the previous order: same garment, same approved color, and the same logo file.
