Request quoteWhich lanyard works best for an event?
For a conference, a trade show, or a multi-day event, choose the lanyard with a detachable buckle: the badge comes off without pulling the strap over anyone's head, which speeds up check-in and security. The neck-clip lanyard works for staff and one-day events. A retractable badge reel is for people who tap their card many times a day, not for a conference.
| Type | What it is | Best for | Method | Reference price from |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lanyard with safety buckle | 1" Ă 35" cotton strap with a detachable buckle and a metal hook | Conferences, trade shows, and multi-day events | Full-color DTF | RD$295 |
| Lanyard with neck clip | 20 mm strap with a breakaway safety clip at the neck | Staff, one-day events, tighter budgets | Full-color DTF | RD$267 |
| Retractable badge reel | Retractable reel that holds an ID card | People who tap or show their card many times a day | UV printing | RD$153 |
Reference prices per unit, before ITBIS (Dominican sales tax), as of October 2026; they vary with quantity and branding. All three take 2 to 4 days from artwork approval, per the product page.
How many lanyards should you order?
One for every badge you will hand out, split by role, plus a margin for last-minute registrations and replacements. The number comes from your registration list, not a rough guess.
- Attendees: confirmed registrations, plus a margin for same-day sign-ups.
- Staff and vendors: everyone working the event who needs ID, including setup, security, and catering.
- Speakers, press, and special guests: a small group, but in a different color so access staff can spot them from a distance.
- Replacements: a few extra per color for anyone who loses or breaks theirs.
The margin depends on how people register. With closed registration, a small margin is enough; if you accept walk-ins, order more. What to avoid is rounding up "just in case": a lanyard with the event name and date is useless at the next one.
Should each role get its own color?
Yes, if the event has restricted areas or several kinds of guests. Whoever controls a door looks at the color before the badge: one color for staff, another for attendees, another for speakers, and access is settled at a glance.
In the quote, each color and its quantity is a batch within the same proposal, with its own mockup. That's normal for us: we get requests like "We need 6 umbrellas with one logo and 6 umbrellas with another", and lanyards work the same way when some carry the event brand and others the sponsor's.
What gets printed on the lanyard?
The logo, repeated along the strap, and not much else. A strap 20 to 25 mm wide, the width of both models in our catalog, fits a horizontal logo or a short name; long text and thin lettering get lost.
- Event or company logo, in a color that contrasts with the strap.
- Sponsor logo, if the lanyard is part of a sponsorship package: alternating with the event logo or as a separate batch.
- No date, if you want to reuse the staff lanyards at your next event.
Both lanyards in our catalog are branded with full-color DTF, so a multicolor logo reproduces without trouble. To see how branding methods differ, read embroidery, DTF, or sublimation: how to choose.
What about the badge itself?
Our catalog includes the lanyard and the badge reel; printed badges with each attendee's name are not listed as a product. If you need them, mention it in your quote request and we'll tell you whether they can be included. If the event prints its own badges, send us the format: the lanyard hook has to fit that badge's holder or punch hole.
How far ahead should you order?
Lanyards on their own take 2 to 4 days from artwork approval, per the product page. If they're part of a larger event order with kits, bags, or T-shirts, the full project sets the timeline: 10 to 18 business days, and at least 15 if the event goes over 100 pieces.
Count back from registration day, not opening day, then add the quote (24â48 hours) and however long your team takes to approve the artwork. If the event falls in July, November, or December, order earlier: those are the busiest months of our year.
Are lanyards useful beyond events?
Yes. At the office they hold employee ID cards every day, which is why they go into new-hire welcome kits: our catalog has welcome kits that already include a lanyard and a badge reel, from RD$1,497. What else belongs in that box is covered in what to include in an employee welcome kit.
How we handle lanyards for your event
Event organizers rarely come to us with an exact lanyard count. They come with a date and a reason: a conference, an annual assembly, a trade show. So we start with the list of roles, not the product.
- Brief: registration date, quantity per role and color, which logo goes on it (event, company, or sponsor), and the delivery location. A vector logo (AI, EPS, SVG, or editable PDF) saves a step.
- Quote within 24â48 hours, with a mockup of the strap and an itemized price: product, branding, packaging, and service.
- Artwork approval: we check that the logo reads at the strap's width before production, not after.
- Production with piece-by-piece quality control.
- Delivery in batches, sorted by color or role, to your office, the hotel, or the venue.
What squeezes timelines the most is leaving artwork approval for the last week: production starts when the artwork is approved, not when the quote arrives. And you don't need a thousand-person conference to order: our median order is 15 units.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order for branded lanyards?
Each lanyard's product page shows an estimated minimum of 1 unit. We confirm the final minimum in your quote, depending on the technique and packaging.
Can one order include lanyards in several colors?
Yes. Each color, with its quantity, is a separate batch in the same quote, with its own mockup. Available colors depend on the model, so tell us which ones you need in your first message.
What's the difference between a lanyard and a retractable badge reel?
A lanyard hangs from the neck and can be seen from a distance, which is why it works for access control at events. A badge reel clips to clothing and extends so the card can be tapped on a reader: it suits offices and front desks better.
Do you issue tax-compliant invoices?
Yes. Lemon Creativo issues electronic tax receipts (e-CF), including for free trade zone and special-regime companies.
