Short answer
An eco-friendly corporate gift works when people use it every day: how often it's used matters more than the material. Lemon Creativo in Santo Domingo offers bamboo, cork, jute, and recycled-paper pieces from RD$291 before tax, ready in 2 to 4 days from artwork approval. Our most-ordered item: the cork-base mug.

Request quoteWhat makes a corporate gift eco-friendly?
Being used again and again. A tumbler someone carries for years prevents more waste than a recycled-paper notebook nobody opens, even if the notebook says "eco" on the cover.
To decide, look at four things in this order:
- Use: will the person use it every week? If not, no material can save it.
- Durability: something that lasts for years beats a disposable item with a green label.
- Material: bamboo, cork, jute, wood, or recycled paper, described honestly. We cover each one below.
- Packaging: a bamboo gift wrapped in plastic contradicts itself.
The order matters. Start with the material and you end up with pieces that look green and sit in a drawer. Start with how it will be used and the right material follows.

Bamboo, cork, jute, or recycled paper: which one fits?
Whichever matches how the gift will be used. Each material has a strength and a caveat worth knowing before you talk about it in your communications.
Bamboo
It's a renewable resource and looks natural without any explanation. One caveat: many "bamboo" pieces combine bamboo with stainless steel or glass, like the tumbler, the pitcher, or the cup. That makes them durable, which is what counts, but they aren't 100% bamboo, and they should be presented that way. On bamboo and wood, branding is done with laser engraving: it marks the surface and adds no ink.
Cork
It shows up as the base of mugs and cups: it protects the table and adds grip. The 13 oz ceramic mug with cork base and lid has been Lemon's most-ordered item since 2025. People order it because it gets used every day, and that makes it one of the most sustainable options in the catalog.
Jute and canvas
Jute is a natural fiber, sturdy and rustic in texture; our catalog describes it as biodegradable. Canvas is softer and takes full-color printing. Together they make bags that hold up for years. We have a separate guide to canvas, jute, and tote bags with your logo.
Recycled paper
It works for notebooks and notepads, the volume piece in events and kits. It earns its place if the notebook gets used; if it's filler in a kit, drop it and lower the cost.
What we don't call eco-friendly
Our polypropylene bags (from RD$186) are reusable and hold up through many shopping trips, but they're plastic. They're a good alternative to single-use bags; in your communications, present them as reusable, not as eco-friendly.
Which eco-friendly gift fits each recipient?
It depends on where that person will use it. A quick guide:
- For your team: the cork-base mug or the 380 ml bamboo tumbler. They get used every day, at the office and at home.
- For clients: the engraved bamboo mug or the 4-piece bamboo gift box. They look thoughtful without being flashy, and laser engraving stays understated.
- For events and campaigns: the bamboo pen, the recycled-material notebook, and the jute or canvas bag. They're quick to hand out and stay in use afterward.
- For welcoming new hires: a kit with a mug, notebook, and bag; our guide to corporate kits shows how to put one together.
What should you avoid so it doesn't read as greenwashing?
Greenwashing means presenting something as eco-friendly when it isn't. People notice, and it costs the brand credibility. The usual causes:
- Claims you can't back up. "100% biodegradable" or "zero impact" on an item with steel or plastic parts.
- Gifting by volume. Five hundred items nobody uses end up in the trash; fifty that get used don't.
- Printing the event name or date large. The item stops being useful after the event, and leftovers can't be reused.
- Wrapping in plastic. Packaging is the first thing people see.
- Choosing the material before the use. First decide where the person will use it; then decide what it's made of.
A quick test: can you explain in one sentence, with facts, why this item is better than the usual alternative? If the answer is clear and verifiable, you're on track.
Does an eco-friendly gift cost more?
Sometimes, and the gap is usually smaller than it looks. Lemon's median order is 15 units. For 15 people, switching from an 11 oz white mug (RD$274) to the cork-base mug with lid (RD$513) adds about RD$3,585 to the whole order, before tax.
If the budget doesn't stretch, adjust the scope, not the quality: fewer but useful pieces, a simpler technique, or simpler packaging. To decide by budget range, read corporate gifts by budget.
If you're comparing, ask for each option separately. It's a common request in the inquiries we get, and it shows you what the eco-friendly version really costs next to the usual one, line by line.
What about packaging?
In a Lemon quote, packaging is its own line, next to product, branding, and service. You can see how much it adds to the total and ask for another option if it doesn't fit the message.
If the gift is bamboo or jute, say so in the brief so the packaging follows the same line. A short card explaining what the piece is made of finishes the presentation without overselling.
Why we start with use, not material
We start with use: where the person will actually use the gift. At the office, a mug or tumbler; out and about, a bag; in meetings, a notebook. The material comes after.
Our orders back up that order of decisions. Our most-ordered items since 2025 are everyday pieces: the 13 oz ceramic mug with cork base and lid, custom full-color DTF bags, 600â750 ml aluminum bottles, and 20 oz steel tumblers. They get used every day, which is why they deliver more than any green-labeled item that ends up in storage.
The process is the same for everything:
- Brief: goal, recipients, quantity, date, delivery location, and approximate budget.
- Quote in 24â48 hours, with a mockup and itemized pricing: product, branding, packaging, and service.
- Artwork approval and, when needed, a sample.
- Production with piece-by-piece quality control.
- Delivery to a single point, per person, or per site, anywhere in the country.
Single items in this guide take 2 to 4 days from artwork approval; a multi-piece kit with special packaging takes 10 to 18 business days. On quantities: these single items can be made from a few units, per the product page, and our median order is 15 units. We confirm the quantity in the quote.

Frequently asked questions
Which eco-friendly corporate gift gets used the most?
Everyday items. At Lemon, the 13 oz ceramic mug with cork base and lid has been our most-ordered item since 2025, followed by reusable pieces like aluminum bottles, steel tumblers, and bags.
Is bamboo really eco-friendly?
It's a renewable resource and it's branded with laser engraving, without ink. But many pieces combine bamboo with steel or glass: they're durable, which is what matters, though they aren't 100% bamboo. Say so plainly.
Can you do plastic-free packaging?
Ask for it in the brief. Packaging is a separate line in the quote, so you can see its cost and choose the option that fits the gift's message.
How long does an eco-friendly gift order take?
Single items take 2 to 4 days from artwork approval, per the product page. A multi-piece kit with special packaging takes 10 to 18 business days.
